Health screenings are provided at grade levels recommended by the NJDOH. Screenings include height, weight, blood pressure, vision, and hearing. Preschool students receive a brief dental screening. Scoliosis screenings are completed in 5th and 7th grade. Referrals are made for any questionable findings as screenings do not replace a doctor's examination.

Please use the Parent Portal  (preferred) to report absences. This ensures your child's safety as we are a walking district. The attendance line is also available 24/7 to leave a message when your child needs to miss school. Our mainline #(908)475-4001 and listen for the prompt for the attendance line.

Sick or coughing students should not attend school.

When to keep your child home

If your child requires medication at school, please have your doctor complete the required authorization forms.

Forms are available on the Important Document tab to the right.

A tip for you as to how to positively identify a nit>>>

1. Pull the nit from the hair and place it on a white paper towel or piece of paper.
2. If it is brown, round on one side, and pointy on the other with an antenna, then you are seeing a nit.
3. If it blends into the white background then it is a DEC plug (secretion from the oil glands) or a piece of dandruff.
4. If it is round and black, it is a piece of debris.
Your child will need to be treated before returning to school.

A personal school nurse suggestion from me to avoid overuse of harsh treatments: douse your child's hair with olive oil, wrap it firmly in a twisty towel, and let it stay on overnight.  Then wash the oil out with Dawn dishwashing soap and begin to remove any nits from the hair using a lice comb and your fingernails (keep a damp paper towel nearby to wipe them off on).  Usually, one treatment such as this does the trick!  If not, you can safely do it again (and again).  The olive oil leaves their hair looking beautiful as well!

NJ requires students entering 6th-grade to receive diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis (Tdap), and meningococcal vaccine (MCV). A current physical examination is recommended. Students who do not complete these requirements face exclusion.

Preschoolers must also receive an annual flu shot before December 1st, per the Warren County Department of Health.

If your child has a life-threatening food allergy, the safest meal is one packed from home; however, we understand this is not always possible. You may refer to our food service directly.
